Oxyzone is an important step towards enhancing greenery of the city: CM Bhupesh Baghel



Chief Minister dedicates Oxyzone to people of Capital City 


This Oxyzone developed over 19 acres of land has more than four thousand plants


Raipur, 02 Juy 2020/ Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today inaugurated the oxyzone developed over 19 acres of land in the heart of the capital city. This oxyzone developed at the cost of nearly Rs 11 crore will provide fresh air and a beautiful place for walks and amusement. This oxyzone will play an important role in environment conservation. Chief Minister said that this oxyzone is an important step towards enhancing greenery of the city. On the occasion, Chief Minister planted a sapling of white sandalwood.


In this oxyzone developed over 12 acres of land near Collectorate premise, more than four thousand saplings of 75 various species have been planted at the cost of Rs 4 crore till date. This oxyzone will not only improve the environment of the city but will also serve as a great place for morning and evening walks and amusement for the citizens. Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Urban Administration Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Daharia, Member of Rajya Sabha Mrs. Chhaya Verma, Mayor Raipur Municipal Corporations Mr. Ejaz Dhebar, Raipur North MLA Mr. Kuldeep Singh Juneja and other public representatives were also present in the inaugural programme .


Chief Minister said on the occasion that State Government is making consistent efforts to enhance greenery in the cities. Oxyzone of Raipur is one of the important initiatives in the direction. We will have to make collective efforts to maintain the greenery of this oxyzone. He said that people of Raipur have been waiting for the oxyzone for a ong time. Today, their wish has come true. In this oxyzone, saplings of various species of forest trees found across the state have been planted. Old trees have been properly conserved. During rainy season, Forest Department is doing plantation work on a large-scale across the state. Plantation is being done on the vacant spots on the riverbanks.


Oxyzone has rides for children, open air gym equippments and a hub for various species of birds and butterflies. Lawns have been developed in the oxyzone and it also has a small rose graden.


For walks, oxyzone has 3km-long pathways. Besides it has two water-bodies one of which is natural and other one has been built. Rainwater gets channeled and collected here for irrigating the plants. A waterfall has also been developed here, which looks mesmerizing with lights in the nighttime. It is a beautiful selfie zone for youngsters. On the occasion, Chief Secretary Mr. RP Mandal, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Subrat Sahu, Commissioner Mr. GR Churendra, Collector Dr S Bharatidasan, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Mr. Rakesh Chaturvedi, PCCF of Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation Mr. Rajesh Govardhan, Senior SP Mr. Ajay Yadav and Commissioner Raipur Municipal Corporation Mr. Saurabh Kumar and other department officials were also present.
